Covid-19 Update
Even though all government covid restrictions have been removed, we are continuing to take covid as a threat and we are doing our best not to infect either our guests or ourselves. So we continue to use largely the same format as during the pandemic.
During the pandemic we were issued with protocols that outline covid cleaning and safety requirements which we are continuing to follow. These are to ensure your safety, and that of our staff and ourselves. It will however, mean that things are slightly different from usual and so we will be asking for your cooperation with a few things.
Cleaning will take extra time - because of the Covid-19 risk, we ‘double clean’ - first our usual high level cleaning, then going over everything again with a sanitiser, so departure times will now be slightly different. We still aim to be ready for your arrival at 3.00pm (please be patient if we’re not ) but we are changing the departure time to 9.30am. We understand this is inconvenient, but it is really important that you allow us this extra time to ensure your safety.
On arrival. There will be no ‘meet and greet’ unfortunately, but please feel free to call us on 01584 831 934 for a chat and a few helpful hints, or we can come to your garden if preferred. Your cottage will be open. Your ‘Welcome Basket’ is now a welcome tray which can be sterilised.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could strip your beds before leaving - not glamorous on the last day of your holiday, sorry. However, the Government advice was that we have to assume that someone in your party could be carrying the virus. It is considered that removing bedding could make the virus airborne, hence the request for guests to strip the beds themselves, especially as one of our helpers has an extremely vulnerable husband. Two linen baskets are provided, one for linen and one for towels.
Please open windows as much as possible during your stay but especially as you leave.
Please empty all bins (including bathroom bins) and put into the outside bins.
Some things may be missing - to reduce the risk of touch contamination. This means that decorative cushions and throws, ornaments, paper information leaflets, toys, games, etc have been kept to a minimum.
If you develop symptoms - we sincerely hope that you will have a happy and healthy holiday. However, should a member of your party develop symptoms, the advice is to return home so that you have the cover and support of your local NHS. Sorry but there is no refund as we do not cover guests for falling ill with covid or any other illness, this risk should be covered by your own holiday insurance. Please inform us as our cleaning regime would require extra care.
We apologise for asking you to do the above chores and for the cottage looking a little bare, but it’s for everyone’s safety.
